Champions League Odds: Man City favourites after quarter-finals draw

Pep Guardiola's side remain at the head of the market having been paired with Spurs while Liverpool face Porto and Juventus square off against Ajax

With Real Madrid's spell of European dominance coming to an end, there will be a different name on the Champions League trophy in June.

Manchester City began the day as 9/4 (3.25) favourites to win the competition for the first time.

They remain the team at the head of the market although their odds have been adjusted to 2/1 (3.00). Tottenham were a best price of 16/1 (17.0) before the draw and those odds have now shifted to 25/1 (26.0).

Whoever progresses from that all-Premier League affair will face either Juventus or Ajax in the semi-finals.

In a last 16 round packed with second leg comebacks Atletico Madrid were dumped out of the competition courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick in Turin. The Old Lady were well-backed before the campaign got underway and are now  (from 4/1).

Their pairing with Ajax (40/1) is a big positive according to the bookmakers, albeit the Dutch side showed just what they are capable of by knocking out the reigning champions in the last 16.

Last season's beaten finalists Liverpool are still in the hunt for an elusive Premier League title as well as European glory. The Merseysiders have been handed a tie with Porto (100/1) in the next stage and the Portuguese side are viewed as the weakest team left in the competition according to the pre-draw prices.

Jurgen Klopp's squad will be stretched over the coming months but their quarter final draw has been viewed as a positive who go 4/1 (from 5/1) about them going one better than a year ago.

Barcelona were seen as the nearest competition for Pep Guardiola's side at 10/3 (4.33) but have drifted to 7/2 (4.5) and sit behind Juventus in the latest outright prices. They will face a resurgent Manchester United team who look a much tougher assignment than they did under Jose Mourinho earlier in the season.

United stunned Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at the Parc des Princes to qualify for the last eight and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are flying under their interim boss.

Solksjaer won the Champions League as a player in his time at United of course, and the Norwegian is 20/1 (from 12/1) to lead the Red Devils back to the pinnacle of European football by going all the way.

That tie will see the first leg switched to Old Trafford as both Manchester clubs are unable to play at home on consecutive nights.
