After another strong performance in midweek, Man City look a cracking price to continue where they left off here against Chelsea. The Blues were awful in the 2nd half against Wolves and Sarri looks like he needs to go back to the drawing board to turn things around, I fancy this game could come too soon for him however. Chelsea lost both league meetings against Manchester City 1-0 last season. They also lost 2-0 against City in the Community Shield.
Chelsea lost 2-1 against a Wolves side who looked desperately out of form, dropping them into 4th position and putting a massive 10 point gulf between them and the top of the table. In fact, the danger signs started a while back now. Chelsea, despite their lengthy unbeaten run at the start of the campaign, have only actually won 4 of their last 10 Premier League matches, and all of those victories came against sides currently mired in the bottom 6 of the table. Admittedly Chelsea are still unbeaten at Stamford Bridge, but they haven’t faced a side quite at the level of Manchester City yet. The Citizens were hot favourites to retain their Premier League trophy this season, and they are showing just why at the moment. City have won 13 of their 15 league matches. Considering the visitors’ incredibly good form at the moment, along with Chelsea’s significant dip in performance level, I think backing a Manchester City win here looks the best option.
City remain unbeaten in the Premier League and will recall some of their star players such as Sterling and Laporte after leaving them out for the midweek match. Only Wolves and Watford have been able to score against them this season on their league travels and only one of their last 29 away league games has ended in defeat.
Chelsea lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek after taking an early lead. That leaves them in fourth place and 10 points behind the league leaders. A defeat here would almost certainly end their title hopes. The loss to Wolves was their second in three league games and they only have one win in the last four. They are unbeaten in their last 11 home league games but five of those have ended in draws. City look totally dominant at present with so many players in form. They can be backed to get an away win here.
Chelsea have had a good season so far but the cracks have started to appear in recent weeks a heavy defeat against Spurs and loss against Wolves in midweek suggest they will have to up their game to trouble in form league leaders Man City who are in red hot form and scoring an average of 3 goals a game so this is likely an away win.
