If I was picking a game to watch on Saturday afternoon this is the one I would like. Bournemouth are very good to watch. Callum Wilson is back and he's got an international call-up again. He must be feeling good about himself. I like Josh King and Wilson as a partnership - good movement and a real partnership. They're weak at the back because of injuries but the twist here with Rafael Benitez is he's let his team off the reigns a bit. Miguel Almiron has improved them and when you buy that type of player you must be more adventurous. Him, Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon are a handful. Whoever watches this should be in for a treat.
Newcastle have taken a lot of pressure off themselves with their great comeback to beat Everton last weekend, because they are now six points clear of the relegation zone. Bournemouth won too, against Huddersfield, after a run of four defeats and a draw in their previous five games. Callum Wilson scored for the Cherries after returning from injury, and they are much more dangerous when he is in the team.
Newcastle United have picked three wins, a loss and a draw in their last five matches and Bournemouth have a win, three losses and a draw in their last five. Ahead of their clean sheet against Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth had conceded 10 goals in four matches and they will hope to tighten up a bit in this clash. Nine losses and four wins in their last 15 matches is not a run they will want to look back to for inspiration. They have however been trying at home, where they have four wins and four losses in the last 10 matches. Bournemouth have eight home wins in the last 16 league matches, losing four. Newcastle United on the other hand, have picked three wins and a draw in their last five league matches and seem to be getting back their groove after struggling at the early stages of the campaign. They have scored two or more in three of their last five league matches but they are winless in their last six away league games, a matter they will need to address ahead of this clash. They have picked four losses and two draws in the six games, and have managed just two wins in 15 away league matches with just four clean sheets. Three points separate the two sides on the table and each of them has won twice in the five meetings they have had in history. Newcastle won the first leg 2 – 1.
