It could still be a big season for them if their improvement in form continues with the Champions League soon to resume. Alaves have been flying high in La Liga all season but recent weeks have seen their form dip. They are fifth in the table but now four points behid the final Champions League place. They have lost both of their last two league games including a 4-0 loss at sixth-placed Getafe. More disapppointing though was the 1-0 home lloss to 17th placed Rayo Vallecano. Only one of their last six away league games have been won and they have already lost six away league games this season.
