Barcelona’s goals have been drying up; after a 6 – 1 win over Sevilla they went on to a run of three straight draws, one scoreless, and they head to this clash on the back of a slim win over lowly placed Real Valladolid in La Liga. They will definitely hope for improvement on that front but with a run of six unbeaten matches in the Champions League, they will be confident heading to France. However, their away record in the competition has just three wins in the last 10 matches, and they will be hoping to do better than they did in their last visit to France for a Champions League match, when they picked a 0 – 4 thumping at the hands of PSG. That was in February 2017 and a lot has changed. Lyon have four wins in their last five matches and will also be hoping to improve on their performance in the Champions League, having picked five straight draws in the competition. They are unbeaten in nine Champions League matches, seven of them being draws. They have won just one Champions League match at home in the last 10, but each of the last four have ended in draws. The last three home matches in the competition have ended in 2 – 2 draws. This will be the sixth Champions League meeting between the two sides; Lyon have never beaten Barcelona, while the Spaniards have claimed four victories.
