Tranmere Rovers vs Tottenham Hotspur tips

2019 began with Tranmere Rovers being held by Macclesfield Town who are bottom of League Two. Their opponents are managed by Sol Campbell who just happens to be a former Tottenham player. Now the League Two side face Tottenham at home in the third round of the FA Cup. They will be looking to cause a major upset but have no wins in their last two league matches leaving them ninth in the table three points away from the play-off positions. This time last year, Tranmere were a non-league team who went on to win promotion back to League Two. Tranmere have beaten two non-league sides to get this far and are unbeaten in their last seven home games but four have ended in draws.
Tottenham Hotspur continue their bid to win a trophy under Maurico Pochettino and must be seen as one of the favourites to win this trophy. They will of course play a weakened side, but have been doing that in the Carabao Cup and have reached the last four in that competition. Last year saw them held to FA Cup draws by Rochdale and Newport but with a congested fixture list will hope to avoid that. They have been in sparkling form of late aside from the home loss to Wolves. Seven of their last nine games have been won and they have enough depth in their squad to get a comfortable win here, leading at both half and full time.
