Both Patrick Corbin and Trevor Rogers have been brutal this season so the offenses should be able to tack on a few
early runs here. Miami has been patient at the plate as they are ninth in baseball with walks. Both bullpens are pitching over a three ERA in the seventh inning or later so both teams should figure out how to score off these bullpens. Go with the OVER to hit here as both pitching staffs have struggled to get outs and leave runners stranded.
The team pitching staff tells us exactly what we should know and closes the case as Miami is 14th in baseball with a 3.41 ERA while Washington is last in MLB with a brutal 5.41 ERA. We discussed the offensive numbers already and showed Miami is trending upwards. Washington has to work on getting more depth out of their lineup as pitching staffs are not giving Juan Soto pitches to hit and feeling okay with him getting walks since he does not have the protection in the lineup that warrants pitching to him as one of the best hitters in the game. All in all, go with the Miami Marlins to win on the road here as they have been the better team on both sides of the baseball.
